City, South Suburban Park & Rec District
Seeking Naming Ideas For New Park

Construction is currently underway on the park, currently referred to as Entertainment District Park, located at the southeast corner of Kimmer Drive and Park Meadows Drive in Lone Tree. The park will be owned and maintained by South Suburban Park and Recreation District (SSPRD). The park is being funded by SSPRD with a contribution from the City of Lone Tree.

The park was envisioned to bring new life to this part of the City by providing new amenities to residents and workers in the area. The park, along with other public improvements like the new Kimmer Dr./Park Meadows Dr. intersection, are helping to spur reinvestment in the Entertainment District.

"Intersection" Sculpture by Frank Swanson

A new sculpture by artist Frank Swanson is currently being created for the park. The sculpture is called "Intersection." It’s a 8-ft. tall granite boulder that is being cut into 3 “puzzle pieces” that will be placed in a circle on the plaza. The The artist’s website is: www.swansonstone.com

Now that construction is underway the City, along with South Suburban Parks & Recreation, are looking for naming ideas for the park. We're encouraging members of the community of all ages to brainstorm ideas and submit them via the form below. The name will be selected by the Lone Tree City Council with the participant recognized during a Lone Tree City Council meeting.

Phase one of the park will feature:

  • Overlook plaza with picnic tables, benches and a shade structure
  • Landscaping enhancements
  • Fitness station
  • New trail connections
